The night before Samhain, when the veil is thin, we’ll gather for a nourishing evening of plants, dreaming + sound.
For thousands of years, plants have accompanied humans into the dreamscape, helping us see, remember + make meaning of what happens in the dark.
We tend to orient to waking + dreaming as different worlds. But what if they are the same song played by different instruments? What if dreaming is simply a different way of seeing?
Together, we’ll explore lucid dreaming + dream recall, practices for becoming more present within the dreamscape, and plants traditionally worked with around dreaming, vision + liminal states, including blue lotus, mugwort + more. We’ll learn the many ways these plants can accompany a dreaming practice through hydrosols, infusions, extracts + smoke, while experiencing dream-centered hydrosols together throughout the evening.
Nourishing snacks + ʻawa (kava) will be offered, and each participant will leave with a botanical pre-roll to continue the exploration at home.
We’ll close the evening with a sound bath led by Wendy Schmitt, an invitation to lie down, close our eyes, soften the waking mind + listen.
A nourishing night of plants, dreams, sound + darkness. An invitation to remember that we already know how to see in the dark.
